ANBU Ambassadors

ANBU ambassadors are representatives from universities across the UK, tasked with supporting others with aspects of student life and spreading awareness of child sexual abuse in the Tamil community by sharing ANBU UK tools and resources amongst other activities.

They’ll additionally get involved with ANBU UK events and fundraisers providing an important yet fun role!

We're looking for individuals who are/can:

Enthusiastic, approachable and compassionate students

Comfortable advocating and empowering others by providing support with issues related to mental well-being, childhood sexual abuse and healthy relationships (fully guided by your ANBU UK Ambassadors support team)

Work well both in a team and individually

Provide others with signposting support and resource distribution.

Able to balance both university and ANBU UK commitments

Right now, most tasks will be virtual, this includes:

Attend training on themes related to ANBU and the ambassador role,

Named as an ANBU ambassador - they will signpost to ANBU UK for anyone requiring support, and will be provided with tools to share any information from their training should they be approached in their university in capacity of ANBU ambassador (fully supported by ANBU team),

Distribution of ANBU support material/ information to university through social media, emails, group notice boards etc.

Take part in ANBU campaigns in events, this might mean attending events by zoom,

Support the organisation of an ANBU ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) visit to their university (virtual or in person if possible),

Take part in ANBU fundraisers!

Ambassadors can be as involved as they like, we are very mindful of university schedules and will work with you to make this as flexible and workable as possible. Minimum 2 hours a month commitment.

Ambassadors will be fully supported by the ANBU UK Ambassadors support team who will be keeping in touch on a regular basis, providing Ambassadors with new resources to distribute and be on hand to support with any specific issues.

Training will be provided to successful applicants, ambassadors will gain insights into wellbeing interventions, advocacy, social change and so much more, great for experience and CV building.
